When children arrive Before School, they are greeted by our staff and provided a breakfast and free choice activities. The students are excused for school about 10 minutes before their school day begins. TK and Kindergarten students are walked to their classrooms, and a staff member stays with them until the school’s playground supervision is present.
In the After-School Program, the students follow a daily schedule. This includes a team meeting, snack, homework time, outside play, free choice, reading time, and character building activities. The students are provided a quiet place where they work on homework and are provided assistance from staff. They participate in weekly character building activities which include subjects such as honesty, integrity, respect, cooperation, and gratitude. The Child Care Center provides an environment that promotes positive social interaction and development through play.

After School Education and Safety Programs (ASES)
The After School Education and Safety (ASES) Program is the result of the 2002 voter-approved initiative,
Proposition 49. The ASES program provides safe and educationally enriching alternatives for children and youth during non-school hours. These programs are created through partnerships between schools and local community resources to provide literacy, academic enrichment and safe constructive alternatives for students in kindergarten through ninth grade (K-9).
The Oak Grove School District works closely with the Boys and Girls Club and YMCA to plan and implement a high quality ASES program for our students at Davis Intermediate School, Del Roble Elementary School, Stipe Elementary School, Christopher Elementary School, Hayes Elementary School and Edenvale Elementary School.
The ASES Programs are evaluated on a yearly basis using the Continuous Quality Improvement Planning Tool. The most recent evaluations are linked below:
