School Transfers

An Intra-District transfer, or school choice, allows parents/guardians to enroll their child in a school within the district but outside their designated attendance area, as per California Education Code Section 35160.5(b). For the 2026-2027 school year, the application window opens on January 12, 2026, and closes on March 13, 2026. Please note, the application window for the current 2025-2026 school year is now closed.

 

An Inter-District transfer/reciprocal agreement allows parents/guardians to enroll their child in a school outside their designated attendance area and district. According to California Education Code sections 46600–46610 and Board Policy BP5117, parents/guardians living outside Oak Grove School District must apply for their child to attend OGSD. Obtain and complete an Inter-District transfer application from your home district and submit it to the OGSD District Office for review. Similarly, OGSD residents wishing to send their child to another district must complete the form and return it to the OGSD District Office.
