What should I do if the online registration does not recognize my address?
If your address is not found in the system, it could be because your street is not in our school locator database, or you are coming to us on an Inter-District Transfer. If you live in one of the newer developments in our district or have already been approved for an Inter-District Transfer, you may manually type in your address and continue to fill out the registration form. Verification of address will be done by the District Office, but you will still need to provide proof of residency to your school’s secretary to complete registration.
Am I guaranteed a place at my neighborhood school?
Oak Grove believes in the power of neighborhood schools. We make every attempt to ensure students attend their “school of residence.” Occasionally, we must place a student at a school other than their school of residence due to space issues. When this is necessary, we make every attempt to return the student to their school of residence the following year. Many times the student and family become attached to the school where they are placed. When a spot becomes available at their school of residence, the family is given the option to return to that school or stay at their current school.
How do I change schools?
In order to attend a school other than your school of residence, you must complete an Intra-District transfer request form. The Intra-District transfer window for the 2025-2026 school year is now CLOSED and will re-open for the 2026-2027 school year on January 12, 2026, through March 13, 2026. Please see our School Transfers page for more information.
What is an Inter-District transfer?
An Inter-District transfer is a request for a student to attend a school outside their district of residence. (For example, a student who lives within the attendance area of Gilroy Unified School District wants to attend a school in Oak Grove School District.) The family would need to complete an Inter-District transfer request. The request must first be approved by the district of residence. It is then reviewed and approved or denied by the “new” district of attendance. These requests must be renewed each year. Please visit our School Transfers page for more information and to download the Inter-District Application form.
Is there before/after school care at my school?
There are many before/after-school programs in our school district at each of our school sites. View the Before/After School Programs by school. You can also contact your school office for information about what they offer.
