Frost Elementary – Principal Message

Welcome to Earl Frost Elementary School, home of the Fantastic Falcons. The 2014-2015 school year marks our school’s 50th anniversary. In celebration of this major milestone, we will honor the rich and diverse history of our school while creating an innovative and fresh environment that looks to the future for inspiration.

Our mission at Frost is to ensure that every child’s potential is achieved. The entire Frost Team is dedicated to creating a nurturing yet rigorous environment that enables each child to develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Frost teachers work collaboratively to design and implement curriculum that will engage students through common core standard-aligned units. Every lesson aims to develop the following skills in each child:

  • Learning – critical thinking, creative, collaboration, and communication
  • Literacy – information literacy, media literacy, and technology literacy
  • Life – flexibility, initiative, social skills, productivity, and leadership

Frost Falcons live by the motto that every Falcon will be Respectful, Responsible, Safe, and Make Good Choices. In support of our motto, we are entering our second year of our school-wide behavior management initiative called Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). PBIS is built on teaching and encouraging positive social skills and behavior to ensure a safe and productive environment for everyone. We believe students thrive in an environment where consistent expectations for behavior have been communicated, explicitly taught, and positively reinforced by all members of the Frost Team.

Finally, our Frost Family is complete because of you – the best families in this county! We offer a variety of opportunities for all interested families to have a voice, get involved, and help shape our school. We look forward to the continued growth and development of Home and School Club, Hispanic Parent Group, Koffee Klatch, School Side Council, and Classroom Parents group. As we begin our journey of this school year, I want to thank you in advance for your commitment and support in making this year both meaningful and memorable. Collectively, there are no limits to how high every Falcon can soar!

Sincerely,  Mr. Manuel Villalpando, Frost Elementary Principal
