Transitional Kindergarten Program

The Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Program is open to students who turn five years old between September 2 and December 2.

The TK Program is available at Del Roble, Edenvale, Miner, Parkview, Santa Teresa, Taylor, Oak Ridge, and Baldwin.

TK Enrollment requires 2 steps:

  1. The TK Application Form may be picked up and dropped off at any school site or the district office.
  2. The TK/ Kindergarten Registration packet should be picked up and dropped off at the home school site.

If you have further questions, please call Mary Veloz at 408-227-8300, ext. 100208.

Opportunities to participate are given to those families who reside within the Oak Grove School District first. Families residing outside the District are welcome to apply for this program through inter-district transfer.

Transitional Kindergarten is a two-year optional kindergarten experience that gives students the “gift of time” to develop foundational behaviors, skills, and attitudes to promote competence and confidence in kindergarten and throughout their comprehensive school experience.

Transitional Kindergarten instruction takes place in a flexible, play-centered, and developmental environment attentive to the social and emotional stages of each child. The curriculum follows California State guidelines with a pacing that is developmentally appropriate, while encouraging cultural and linguistic diversity.
