B.A.S.E. (Before and After School Enrichment) Program –
Oak Grove School District currently has four Child Care Centers located at Frost, Taylor, Baldwin, and Anderson Elementary Schools. All four centers provide before and after school care for TK-8. The fee-based model of these services provides revenue for the district.
When the children arrive at any OGSD Child Care Centers, they are greeted by our staff. In the morning, they receive a healthy breakfast and free choice activities. The students are excused for school about 10 minutes before their school day begins. The kindergarten students are walked to their classrooms, and a staff member stays with them until the school’s playground supervision is present.
In the afternoon, the students follow a daily schedule. Their schedule includes a team meeting, snack, homework time, outside play, free choice, reading time, and character building activities. The students are provided with a quiet place where they may work on homework and are provided assistance from staff. They participate in weekly character building activities which include subjects such as honesty, integrity, respect, cooperation, and gratitude. The Child Care Center provides an environment that promotes positive social interaction and development through play.
During the summer, we offer full day care for any Oak Grove School District students. Registration is on a first come, first served basis.
